The RF-7800S-PK001 SPR Programming Kit provides software
applications to enable planning and filling of the Secure Personal
Radio. The kit is equipped with the RF-7580I International Line-of-sight
Radio Programming Application (RPA), the RF-7800S Utility Software
Application for PC and PDA (SUS), and the 12055-0710-A006 data/fill
cable.
The RPA provides the ability to configure all parameters for the
RF-7800S, including station type definition, net planning, and key
management. Multiple nets can be configured and stored in a plan file
on a PC or removable media for easy distribution to the radio via USB.
The SUS can be installed on either a PC or PDA. It allows for a user-
friendly radio interface, real-time editing, and real-time distribution
of the radio plan file including the ability to perform radio firmware
upgrades. The Utility Software provides the Harris proprietary Ground
Force Tracking GPS system. Squad or platoon leaders are able to track
the location of their troops, displayed on customer-provided map
overlays. The SUS can perform built-in radio test and ongoing reporting
of radio status. The software enables the user to perform in-field
modification of radio plan files, distribution and refill the radio.
Programming kits are provided on a CD and flash memory device and
contain a USB fill cable to enable USB connection to the Secure Personal
Radio. The flash memory device can also be used for in-field distribution
of plan files.
